Hi there i would be grateful for anybody with genuine advice or experiences with this company

I had a look around and can't find anything about it being a scam. Please keep us updated if you find anything.

I know someone who had a brief experience with this company and its a complete fake! A total SCAM!!! Honestly avoid it. It's door to door sales and you're self employed (you are not told this in your interview) and the company does funny stuff with the commission money...the marketing company will practically try and sell you the job from the minute you walk into the place and the idea that you will be a billionaire. They claim to have been running in northampton for 4 years and somehow managed to sign clients such as rspca sky world vision aviva and other big names and the brainwashed sales reps will go around areas and try to subscribe you to these companies for example £1.50 a week but those that have left the company or have been screwed over have learnt that money actually goes to the marketing company and not the charity....how sick!! They convince you with success stories of other people who moved up the company so quickly that they now are in charge of another branch yet however these other branches are not mentioned on there website...they can sell door to door but not their own company on their own website?? And they also get defensive and try to guilt trip you when you ask specific nitty gritty questions. They will try and make you sign an 18 page contract on your first day even though you have the right to take it home to read and understand it over at least a day they will not let you leave the building with it...the contract is a fake they claim to have spent thousands on solicitors fees yet it filled will major spelling mistakes and does not follow the style of writing of a normal contract. They also claim to be part of the appco group but I cannot find much on it.
THERE ARE LOADS OF SCAMS LIKE THIS AROUND MAKE SURE YOU DO FULL RESEARCH OF THE COMPANY AND GOOGLE THEIR NAME WITH THE WORD SCAM IF YOU ARE THE SLIGHTEST BIT UNEASY

I know this Post was a while back but figured i'd clarify some stuff

having worked at R1global for a few months until recently, what makes people think this is a scam is that its a subsidary organisation of the Appco group, http://www.appcogroup.co.uk/ R1 global is run by a guy Nick Reese, Its been operating within Northampton for over 4 years, the business is a Door to Door sign-ups business that specialises in Charities and Charities only, Appco (the parent) is contracted by organisations such as the WWF, RSPCA, British Heart Foundation, Sky and others to get people to sign-up for monthly donations (or for Sky and others service upgrades etc etc) the charities dictate the monthly fee's they want and Appco is paid out of each charities "Pre-allocated Fund-raising Budget" (a budget decided at the start of the financial year), Appco then pays each of its sub-companies for each sign-up they do. I dont know exactly how much appco keeps for itself but thier directors are minted.. what i do know, is that the money that gets to the sub-companies is then divided and paid to the field reps dependant on how many sign-ups they get.
For example
an £8:50 a month sign-up will net the Field rep roughly £30, the field rep's team leader will see, lets say a 10% bonus paid to them for each sign-up the field rep makes, the business owner however, will see identical money for each field rep sign-up, so the owner would also get £30 for the field reps 1 sign-up.
Different monthly sign-ups net a Field rep different payouts depending on what the Charities negotiate with Appco.

OH i forgot to mention, Because your classed as self employed besides having to pay tax, if/when you get promoted to a business owner level within the organisation you start your own office in a location available, UNDER YOUR OWN BUSINESS NAME. this is one of the reasons ive seen that some people think this is a scam, as all these promoted peoples offices arent mentioned on the R1Global website because technically they are separate businesses.

This is where it gets Interesting / what people think is the scam part
There is a clause in the contracts that all field reps sign, called the Clawback Scheme. Basically, as a deterrent for reps to make false sign-up sheets, for every sign-up you make you get paid up-front, 60% of your total sign-ups worth, the other 40% is kept as a retainer for about 3 months and then paid to you once the clawback period is over. THE BIGGEST PART in the clawback scheme is this - Should one of your sign-ups cancel the donations within the first 3 months YOU ARE LIABLE to payback THE ENTIRE AMOUNT.
For example
You sign-up 3 people in a day for £8.50 a month, that nets you £90 - when it comes to payday (paid weekly) you recieve £54 and the business holds onto the other £36.
Say 2 months down the line 1 of your sign-ups cancels, £30 is Deducted from your "retainer" of £36. HERES THE HARSH PART - Should 2 people cancel they will take £60 out of your Retainer, one problem, your retainer only had 36, so they will charge you personally for the missing £24. Because its written into the contract you have to pay them.
I dont consider this a deterent or a scam IMO its just a way of making sure you only sign-up people who are genuinely interested in helping those charities and it makes you more selective, only targeting households that can actually afford it.

One of the other reasons for such a payment scheme is that if a donator cancels within the first 3 months, the charity doesnt technically earn enough to pay for all the paperwork and admin fee's... That being said, ALL the money people donate goes directly to the charities bank accounts, as can be seen on the paperwork these field reps carry.

Having been one of these people who do this, you are expected to knock on around 150 doors a day, you get into the office at 10:30/11:00am, enter the field around 12:00-13:00 ish then you wont return to the office till about 10:00/11:00pm. Due to UK laws door knockers are only allowed to knock up to 9/9:30pm.

One of the main things that keeps some of the people who work there going is despite the amount of money they and appco earn, the Charities own statistics state that they earn roughly 5 times the amount they pay us from the sign-ups they make

Some issues i have with people having done this job. I understand Door to Door "salesmen" can be annoying but thiers no need to treat them badly, maybe you should try knocking on 150 strangers doors in sometimes questionable neighbourhoods and see how enjoyable it is. Another is people in areas that are "door salesmen black listed" or No door sales area's, charity reps do not legally fall under this category which is why they are still operate in these areas. people who dont like giving thier bank details out on the door, its entirely understandable, i would just ask that you understand aswell, these people are police vetted, you can ask then to give you thier id's while you call up the police number or the number on the back of the id's to check they are who they say they are, OFC don't call 999, but instead the non-emergency line or local line, police are normally informed when door knockers will be working in certain areas. Also it costs the charity more if you do sign-up online because then they pay someone to write out your information into a similar form to what the field reps use, and have to send you confirmation post etc etc. ALSO the bank details field reps take cant be used to take money out of your account, they only take your short account number, the bank your with and your sort code. these can only be used to pay money into your account, people would have to have your longer number on the face of your card and your CVV number on the back if they wanted to take money out... if anything i'd be more worried about paying for your pizza over the phone using your card details... but oh well

Sorry about that rant, at the end of the day, this is an enjoyable job, you have your good days, and your bad, you can honestly earn good money at this if you put effort into your work, While working there i earnt over a £170 in a day and R1's record held by the owner, Nick (who comes out to the field with us) was about 18 sign-ups in a day which would have probably earnt him well over £540 in a day. I must admit if i had known it was a door to door "sales" job i probably would not have applied but having done it, it builds your confidence like nothing else ive ever seen, keeps you healthy and it pays to be nice and happy with everyone you meet.

Its not the perfect Job, but it does pay, its life consuming no doubt, but the people who work there are genuinely nice people, quite often lookers too i must admit charismatic and attractive people do tend to do better in this business evironment but its not limited to them at all.
At the end of the day ITS NOT A SCAM, its just a job.

Oh i forgot to mention, if you quit your clawback period / retainer still applies up to 3 months after your final sign-up. so just remember to go in monthly and collect your retainer payments until that final date
