 Scrubbu dl scam
www.scrubbu.com offers a 2$ trial of their download manager. Your immediately charged 12.99, then 14.99. Their customer service screens so its impossible to get threw to cancel, or get a refund. Avoid this site like the plauge. Their software claims to search downloads for viruses. Infact it installs polymorphic viruses and crashes your pc thus stopping you from being able to check purchases or cancel.

 Re: Scrubbu dl scam
The above statements are absolutely false. Please do not be fooled by these efforts to taint our good reputation. They are made by a cowardly competitor who feels threatened with our entry into the market. Poster, please authenticate your unsubstantiated claims by showing an anti-virus report, or a blanked out credit card statement showing extra charges. I know you have neither. For everyone else, I invite you to do a scan of our executables, they are a public download at this address: http://scrubbu.com/license.phpScrubbu is, and always has been spyware and virus-free. We have a comprehensive cancellation policy and ensure that each and every one of our customers is satisfied by offering instant 24 hour telephone, live chat, and email support. If you have any concerns, please drop us an email at support [at] scrubbu.com, and we will be happy to help in any way we can. Regards, Brian Riddick Scrubbu Software Inc.

 Re: Scrubbu dl scam
Ok.. How can someone cancel the membership? because i only wanted a few days membership, but now they have renewed it without asking. And there is no (obvious) link to cancel it. Ive now been charged for a full membership.
If there is a link - Where can i locate it? Otherwise - how can i cancel a service i no longer need or want?

 Re: Scrubbu dl scam
Actually Brian I have made about 3 tickets on their website and emailed them separately, twice. I've actually now changed all my payment details they were using and in future am going to think twice about sites that are just too good to be true. It's such a shame, from what I experienced, scrubbu was one of them. Anyhow, Thanks for the suggestions. Teeeya

 Re: Scrubbu dl scam
Hello Teeya, We checked our support history, and have definitely not received a single support ticket from you using your purchase email address. In case there is some sort of email delivery issue, we do offer a number of other ways of reaching us, all of which are 100% reliable - such as an online submission form, live chat and both a toll-free and international number. You can reach us easily if you try one of these alternate methods. For anyone else having difficulties reaching our Support Department via email, I urge you to visit the URL below to submit a manual ticket and/or find details in regards to other available support options: http://scrubbu.com/support/Regards, Brian

 Re: Scrubbu dl scam
LOL Im not a competitor Im a guy who purchased some software online , and thought the one day trial could serve to dl the software i purchased and avoid waiting for the software to ship. If you have any doubts as to my being in any way related to any such competitor please feel free to hit me up. I get an email any time i get a pm.
So mr scrubbu rep. do you have any proof to substantiate your claim that i am in some way related to a competitor? or do you just slander people who try to warn people of your practices.
How to recive a refund and protect your self from charges from this ilreputable company should you have the misfortune to try it as i did:
A. Immediately contact your bank. They CAN and WILL have methods to protect you. You may or may not be able to get the money back. You WILL be able to stop them from having access to your card.
B. their live chat will ipban you and lie and say no reps are online once they log you as a complaintant. I Did land up getting 14 of the 30 $ back directly from scrubbu , the rest was taken as a loss.
C. Post reviews like i did here. Knowing is half the battle.
Reporting the first charge of 12.99 or what ever as unauthorized charges should get all but the 2 $ trial noted back.
You MUST cut your debit/credit card immediately , and notify your bank of unauthorized charges. They will put threw an investigation of the company. It will take aprox 4 days to receive a forced refund. it will take aprox 5 bus days to recieve a new card. depending on company or bank.
The way scrubbu screws you is repeat small debits/charges. You have to cut your card , this is imperative. Stop them from taking more THEN worry about the money you already lost.
My bank and financial institutes had this company WELL documented.
Its your choice if you choose to believe him that i am some how his competition.
His real competition is torrents. which actually do land up giving you free software, which is illegal. I am in no way related to any such illegal warez sites. Just a normal guy who tried to find a short cut.... and got screwed .
BUYER BEWARE>>>

 Re: Scrubbu dl scam
PS to any unhappy people who also got taken by this scam. With minimal effort you can search online and find the local police department of the two twins who set this scam up. Pictures of the two guys, Their home addresses, which is in canada, and a quite well documented string of sites these two guys have made. You will also find numerous retorts to posts like mine which i saw prior to giving them a chance. In each complaint posted they retort by slandering the sites that expose them , or the folks smart enough to post their experiance so as to save others the hassle .
It is recomended that all folks who are indeed effected by this scam contact their local police department. By this i mean the twins who made the sites local police department. in canada, which is clearly defined in the post I speak of.
All claims made by the site i mention are that sites. I am in no way associated to the site that lists the twins as owners of scrubbu. I just was forced to substantiate my claims, as the scrubuu "rep" Clearly slanderd me.
I referance this information in an effort to provide proof of my claims legitimacy, and the countless others who have also been effected.
Thank you for your time. I hope i have either saved your money, or aided you in getting some of it back.

 Re: Scrubbu dl scam
There is no link. the only option is to use the live chat inwhich case they will argue you, and once you threaten legal action, they claim a refund will be made within 5 days , weeks later it will not show. The next time u goto use live chat it will clearly state one rep is active. 12 pm cst. Once you input your info and click ok to chat it gets a bit random, sometimes telling you no reps are online, sometimes putting you threw to a rep , who promptly closes the window on you. if your fast enough you can get it to email you the chat transcript when it does this,,, This will likely lead you to where it did me.... the phone number. In which a young man answerd the phone and seemingly handled it putting threw the refund immediately per their 15 day policy. Still no refund is noticed. Finally after Riding them , i mean calling once an hour... spamming their chat system with 3 pcs , emailing them chat transcripts of their operators hanging up on me, showing them proof i could sue them and win..... I got a notice of refund of HALF of what they charged me. I took this as a win and dedicate about an hour a day to making sure the money i lost teaches not only me but all of you reading this as well. Its not the 30 $ they got me for.... its the concept. the concept of two lazy twins litterally making a good living off of ripping people off. My end goal is to save others from donating to the lazy bastard twin foundation.... other wise known as scrubbu.

 Re: Scrubbu dl scam
Please stop your unsubstantiated claims, and attempts at keeping the tone of this post negative. Your tactics are obvious - keep writing, filling in valuable forum space via multiple posts filled with arbitrary fictional statements and avoiding any sort of concrete proof, which you and I both know does not exist. Initially, you made statements that we charged your credit card arbitrary amounts, and that our software is plagued with viruses. You have failed to show a credit card statement, or a virus scan that confirms any of this. Please provide some documentation. You now claim that we are somehow connected to a random scam, which came and went while we were busy building our technology and business model. The Scrubbu Search Media Tool has nothing in common with any of the websites or individuals you are desperately trying to link us to. Your posts and your website are the only places on the Internet that are targeting us and trying to slander our service. The Internet makes it too easy for people like you to go out there, create multiple forum accounts as pretend customers, and attack companies, without having to expose or justify yourself. This should be handled the proper way, by the courts. We are a legal entity - it is not hard to find us. We are registered with the US copyright office, the corporate registry, our bank, and have lawyers both in the USA and in Europe, that we deal with on a regular basis. If your objectives were honest, you would approach us, and not hide your identity behind proxies, extravagant unjustified claims and fake names. It is you who is the fraud, trying to hurt our business. We are in the process of getting our software looked at by CNET, PC Magazine, Download.com and others, and will let the reviews speak for themselves. Once we upgrade our server infrastructure, we will also release a shareware version of the application, so that people can try before they buy. If you are a (potential) customer of ours, please go to http://scrubbu.com/support and contact us via email, telephone and live chat - we are always responsive, and will gladly hear your concerns. I am also available at brian [at] scrubbu if you would like to contact me personally. Please follow the link below to see a video of the cross-platform Scrubbu Media Search Tool in action: Brian Riddick Scrubbu Software Inc.
