Has sent me a huge cashiers chack after respnding once to an email for job oppertunity. They want me to deposit it and send them most of it when it clears. It was sent after one corrispondence? Has anyone heard of this as being a scam?

Just in case anyone needs to know, these folks are at it once more! Besides, I have never had to include my maritial status on any application before now, how about any of you?

According to the BBB and several other sites, this is a scam. I was looking for information on this myself.

Just in general, any 'job' opportunity that wants your information and uses phrases such as ' we are expanding quickly' or 'we need a distributor' or representative etc etc, means its a check cashing scam.

Also note that they do not specify where they found your resume (assuming you ARE actually looking for a job). No company generally asks you for your address and other personal information after sending an email like that immediately. First they will want at least a phone interview or a letter of interest/reply.
