Post Thrive Learning Institute?
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if any of you have had any experience with this school. I have done my "due diligence" in research the best that I know how and I haven't come across anything bad. They are with the BBB and they are reporting 0 complaints in the last 36 months.

I just thought I would post in here to see if anyone knows anything more about this company and if they have been successful with it.

Thank you for your time

Looks like they faked their LLC registration. I checked Utah.gov and there is no business with the name "Thrive Learning" is registered in Utah. Thats how they faked BBB accreditation. They told BBB that they were incorporated in 2001, but in reality they launched website four month ago. First comments on the web on Thrive Learning started in June, so that probably when they started their operations.

Quote:
Thrive Learning Institute is the leading provider of online training in the world.

Bold face lie. You do not become leading provider of anything after 2-4 month of operations.

Quote:
Powering individuals, independently-run businesses, as well as syndicated and corporate stores, we teach every aspect of doing business online. Including storefront development, online marketing, search engine optimization, and selling on eBay.

Everything that you should be learning on your own or hiring outside company with years of experience. If you need hand to hold you, you are not built for online business.

Also check ripoffreport website. Looks like they do not honor refunds.

Thank you for responding. I am sorry that it has taken me a while to say thanks. I am glad that we didn't go through with their company. We found out that they are charging different people different prices for the same service. They were trying to get us to pay $15,000 for their school. I saw online that someone else had spent $3000 and there was another person that had some other amount. They do, however, "guarantee" that you make your money back within 90 days. They try to sell you on using "other people's money" when in actuality, they just want you to charge your credit card. Their claim is that it is "the bank's" money. I gues they'd win that on a technicality, but you still have to pay the bank back.... anyway, i think if you look hard enough, you can get most of the information you need on the internet.

Thank you so much!

Post Re: Thrive Learning Institute?
I received an internet email offering “Google Pro Kit CD” for $1.97 or $3.88 on having an e-commerce internet business making money online. Notice how they lead with the prestigious Google name? I am a retired lady, a senior citizen, and have lots of time to learn new things and it sounded interesting to me even though I am not very good at using the computer. I ordered the CD and I was asked for my name, address, phone, email and cc card. This preceded the unsolicited telemarketer call from Infusion Media(finding out later it is one of the many selling floors feeding all their deceived clients into Thrive Learning Institute, the training andcoaching center, and both Utah based companies). The first telemarketer caller poses as the qualifier asking lots of questions about money, debt, wish lists, along with giving some info. about having a profitable internet business that can make you lots of money and pay all your debts. He doesn’t answer any questions about cost or how the program works because he says he doesn’t have that info. He then convinces you to speak to the Sales Director who will answer all your questions and tell you everything about the program.

Infusion Media’s sales floor salesman, Eric Rash, very kind, professional sounding, smooth talking…knowing exactly what he’s doing in order to deceive, tells you everything you want to hear and promises how they will help you all the way with the best training and terrific coaching help to become very successful in 2-3 months in which you should have made your initial investment back making a high monthly income. He said a coach will call you once a week for the first 8 weeks in addition to having unlimited coaching calls where you can get help from your team of 5 coaches. When I asked for cost he quoted 3 different prices about…$5000, $8300 and $13,000. I said it’s a lot of money. I don’t have it. He kept talking and convinced me again of the terrific coaching program and a money back guarantee, and he gave a $1500 discount on the middle package and 2 websites to build, proactive coaching for 12 months and if after 12 months if my total revenue is not at least DOUBLE the initial tuition amount, the coaches would work with me for free until it is, or I would get a refund of my initial tuition. He asked if I had a credit card I could put the charge on and what the credit limit on the card was. He had me hook, line and sinker. All I could think about is how I was going to work this business and I was going to have one super internet business because they were going to help me all the way. It didn’t even cross my mind about canceling after I had given my credit card info. to Thrive Learning Institute not Infusion Media. Infusion Media billed me by their invoice, but Thrive Learning Institute took the credit card payment. I was told over the phone when processing the cc that they were the same company. During the several hours on the phone with Infusion Media that evening, there was never a mention of Thrive Learning Institute to me. I thought I was working with Infusion Media alone.
The Google Pro Kit mentioned above was supposed to cost me $72.?? after 7 days. But Eric Rash told me they would waive that charge since I signed with the Internet Marketing/ Coaching Program. I never did receive that CD. This is how they get their leads.

Neither company ever orally mentioned to me during our telephone conversation of a purchaser’s 3 day right to cancel or put it in writing in the written contract I signed or said anything about cancellation over the phone.

It was a pressured sales call convincing me that I could make high monthly income from internet marketing sales. Eric Rash kept talking with me on the phone for several hours and was so kind, and sweet because looking back now, his aim and intention was a commitment on the first phone call. Never once did he offer me to think it over and he’d call me back in a day or so.

As I began to work the program I was not getting the necessary help from the coaches with the questions I asked, and they were not providing me with the information I needed to become successful. The 8 weekly special phone coaching calls I was to receive from one of the coaches once a week stopped after the second call when I was told, by that coach, it was the last call from the coaches. I would have to be proactive now. I was in the program for 5 weeks before I disputed the charges with my ccc, Citi Card, and wrote a letter, sent by certified mail to Infusion Media, requesting to cancel and asked for a total refund of the amount I paid them $6725.00. I spoke by phone to Brandon Clarke on 2 different occasions from Infusion Media about the refund. The first call he led me to believe he wanted to resolve this so he could issue a credit, but he needed to talk to the other side. When I phoned him a few days later he said he was going to give me $1200 toward a merchant account, start the coaching over, start the process all over, 8 formal weekly coaching calls, we’ll try to accommodate you within the realm of even making a couple of credit card payments for you…the 1st and 2nd, but he couldn’t give me a refund. I then told him I guess it proves that you’re not a reputable company. He told me NO ONE EVER GETS THEIR MONEY BACK AND HE WOULD WIN THE DISPUTE THAT IT DIDN’T MATTER WHAT I DID. He was quite rude at this time. He was right according to the ccc, after 2 months later they sided with Thrive Learning Institute because Thrive was willing to provide the services. Yes, after the fact, that they didn’t provide them in the first place, and what makes them think they will provide them ever? They didn’t offer to provide any additional services until they knew I had filed the dispute. You see how deceptive Thrive is? They even deceived and conned the ccc who is now holding me with the scam charges.

Thrive Learning Institute collected all the money on the first night(<st1:date year="2009" day="6" month="2">Feb. 6, 2009</st1:date>) I spoke to the salesman from Infusion Media. They got me busy right away that evening going into the E-library training center to do certain things to get ready for the 1st coaching call. During the 1st coaching call the coach told me things that were different than Infusion Media, Eric Rash, had told me. I didn’t think much of it because I was told over and over on the phone that the coaches will work very closely with me so I would be very successful.

The coaching began to wear me down when I would call for help and I wasn’t getting any, and I told 3 coaches at different times that I needed help and they are supposed to be helping me. I told them, what did I pay all this money for? Here were their remarks:

“This is the hard part, you just have to keep looking on the internet.”
“We can’t do the work for you.”
“Take a break, you’re working too hard.

What kind of coaching help is that? I was literally working on my own. They got me into a Merchant Account mess as well with unnecessary charges I am still fighting to resolve. They had no idea what they were doing or where I was at in the program. AND THEY DIDN’T CARE! I WAS TOTALLY DECEIVED by INFUSION MEDIA MAKING FALSE PROMISES AND THRIVE LEARNING TAKING MY MONEY UPFRONT IN THE AMOUNT OF $6725.00 AND PRETENDED TO WORK WITH ME.

I’ve recently been on the internet searching for scammers and it hasn’t surprised me at all with what I have found. So many others have been deceived as well. It doesn’t matter which call center contacts the people, many of the deceived eventually end up with Thrive Learning Institute receiving the same treatment I got. These are con artists at their best.

I to have been scammed also, but for more money. We did not have a credit card or didn't want to put the program on our card so they offered us a loan. We are now paying three hundred+dollars a month now for NOTHING!!! I am now in the "reactive phase" were you work with them though email which takes forever for them to get back to you and when they do, it is not help. For instance they told me I needed a email contact on my site so I did that then one week later they email me back to tell me it needs to be "support@youremail.com" they couldn't tell me this in the first place? When I was working with the coaches I would try to contact them by phone and usually had to leave a message, I never got a call back when I was tring to work on the site, it was the next day when I was at my Job.
I have complained about the service I have recived to TEAM 1 but I have been poo poo'd off and haven't gotten the help I needed. I have not yet gotten a merchant account because I didn't want to do that until I was closer to being able to sell what is on my site. I feel that I am not any where near selling anything and they are going to keep stringing me along. They tell me that there are 12-or 13 steps that need to be done before it can go through review. I am on the the third step and it has been one month since they told me I needed to work on step three. At this rate I am never going to be done and I will cont to pay the payments for nothing! I would like to be rid of thrive and get my money back! Anyone out there that could help?

Hi racegirl,

Have you signed this petition?
http://www.gopetition.com/online/27433/signatures.html

If not, please do so! You are being scammed like we all have been from Thrive Learning Institute/telemarketer sales floors.

Write a letter to the Attorney General's office in Utah. And also write your Attorney General and the FTC.

Utah State Capitol Office
Office of the Attorney General Mark Shurtleff
Utah State Capitol Complex
350 North State Street Suite 230
SLC UT 84114-2320

Do this NOW because some telemarketer sales floors and Thrive Learning Institute are in some HEAT right now with their business opportunity practices in the state of Utah. But it's important you write now.

They need everyone's complaint now, so they can see that something needs to be done and this kind of thievery stops!

Start a blog and tell your story how you are not getting the help from Thrive Learning Institute to whom you paid thousands of dollars to in order to have a successful internet marketing business.

Visit my website and post a comment so more people will hear about all the scamming Thrive Learning Institute does.
